RCMp have arrested and charge a 27-year-old male in connection to a machete attack during a drinking party in a Steinbach area garage.
According to RCMP they were called to a home around 9:10 pm Saturday night, February 6, 2021 after a male was allegedly make threats.
As officers arrived an injured male approached them looking for help. Officers administered first aid while paramedics were called. The 21-year-old male was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
While police were on scene helping the victim they noticed another male with blood on his hands and clothes inside the garage. He was taken into custody.
Further investigation uncovered that several had been drinking in the garage when an argument broke out between the victim and accused. The argument escalated to the point that the suspect threatened the victim while holding a machete to his neck causing an injury.
The suspects truck was in the driveway with blood on it and a search uncovered a machete inside.
Jeffery Jodin has been charged for his alleged involvement with Aggravated Assault, Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Assault with a Weapon, and Breach of Recognizance.
RCMP continue to investigate.
