Lynn Lake RCMP Officer’s Home and Vehicle Targeted in Early Morning Attack

A Lynn Lake RCMP officer’s home and police vehicle were targeted in an early morning attack on February 12th. Lynn Lake is about 1,000 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg

At approximately 2:00 am, the officer was awakened by loud banging noises outside his residence. Simultaneously, he received a call from a fellow officer informing him that someone had attempted to kick in his front door.

The officer successfully scared off the suspects. Upon exiting his residence, he discovered significant damage to his personal police vehicle.

Following an initial investigation, RCMP officers identified two male suspects. A 16-year-old male was subsequently arrested and charged with Mischief under $5,000 and Breaking and Entering with Intent. He has been released on conditions.

The Lynn Lake RCMP are continuing their investigation and are still searching for the second male suspect involved in the incident. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Lynn Lake RCMP detachment.
