Lowest new case numbers reported since October

53 new cases of COVID-19 identified in the province today. One case has been removed due to a data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 52. Four additional deaths reported due to the virus.

Those who died from COVID-19 are identified as:

  • a female in her 60s from the Northern health region;
  • a female in her 70s from the Northern health region;
  • a female in her 80s from the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region, linked to the outbreak at Morris General Hospital; and
  • a male in his 70s from the Winnipeg health region.

The five-day test positivity rate is currently 5.9 per cent provincially and 4.2 per cent in Winnipeg.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba is 30,289.

Today’s cases are from the following health regions:

  • three cases in the Interlake-Eastern health region;
  • 12 cases in the Northern health region;
  • three cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region;
  • four cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
  • 31 cases in the Winnipeg health region.

There are currently 1,622 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba with 27,817 people listed as recovered.

271 people are being treated in the hospital of which 105 are considered infectious. 34 people with the virus are in Intensive Care Units with 15 of them still considered infectious.

850 Manitobans have died since COVID-19 first arrived in the province.

1,373 tests were completed yesterday. Since the virus first arrived in February 2020, there have been 490,879 tests completed.

Outbreaks have been declared at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface, Seven Oaks General Hospital Unit 3U1-3, and St. Amant Health and Transition Services, all in Winnipeg.
