Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to a fire in a bungalow on Loudoun Road around 6:20 am on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.
Residents had evacuated the home before firefighters arrived to the well-involved blaze.
A defensive attack was launched as heavy smoke and flames were coming from the building. Crews used water tankers to shuttle water to the scene as the home is outside the City of Winnipeg water district. The fire was declared under control at 7:39 am.
Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services Unit was called out to help the residents find temporary accommodations.
The house suffered extensive damage due to fire, smoke and water.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
