Winnipeg Police say that a 3D-printed handgun was seized by Loss Prevention Officers (LPOs) while they were arresting two male suspects for allegedly stealing merchandise from a McPhillips Street business.
According to police, the LPOs watched as a male attempted to leave a business with items he made no attempt to pay for. He was detained by security and placed in a secure holding room while the LPOs dealt with a second suspect. The second suspect became aggressive and a physical struggle ensued while the officers were placing the suspect in handcuffs. The suspect threatened the officers and indicated he had a gun. LPOs found a loaded 3D-printed 9mm handgun on his person.
When police arrived, the two suspects and a 3D-printed gun were handed over. One of the suspects gave a false name in an attempt to hide his identity.
