There is always at least one incident on the labour day long weekend that makes you shake their head.
It happened Sunday afternoon in ST. Malo Provincial Park 60 or so kilometres south of Winnipeg.
A 25 year old man from Winnipeg was camping in the park and had spent much of the afternoon allegedly indulging in alcoholic beverages. At some point he reasoned that it would be a good idea to go for a ride around the campground in a smart car.
The driver allegedly drove around at a “high rate of speed”,”in an unsafe manner”, according to RCMP.
Manitoba Conservation Officers, who patrol provincial parks, called in the RCMP around 5:30pm Sunday because of the dangerous nature of the situation.
Luckily for those camping and the dumb driver of the smart car, no tent, or people were hit.
RCMP took the driver into custody after he drove the car to his own campsite. He is facing a number of charges for speeding his vehicle through the campground while obviously over the legal limit.
