Liquor Mart employees test positive for COVID-19

Manitoba Liquor and lotteries announced that two employees have tested positive for COVID-19 over the past weekend.

According to the crown corporation an employee at the Grant Park Mall outlet in Winnipeg and another at the Highway 12 location in Steinbach had both been working “during their period of communicability.”

The Grant Park employee developed symptoms during their last shift on Friday November 20, 2020, while the staff member in Steinbach became symptomatic shortly after their last shift on Wednesday November 8.

Liquor and Lotteries says that both employees adhered to safety protocols including wearing a mask, social distancing and proper hand hygiene. Both stores have, out of an abundance of caution, been closed temporarily in order disinfect them.

The employees worked the following shifts prior to developing symptoms:

  • Wednesday, November 18, between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, November 19, between 4:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

  • Tuesday, November 17, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, November 18, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Customers who visited either store during these times are asked to self monitor and if they develop symptoms to contact Health Links at (204) 788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257 for further advice.
