Between Thursday and Saturday this week more than 2000 delegates to the Liberal national convention will make Winnipeg their home.
For the first time since 1980 the convention is back in the city. Back then another Trudeau was in town after winning a majority election, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.
The convention will see an number of keynote speakers including Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, New Brunswick Premier Brian Gallant. Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Dwight Ball, Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will speak to the gathered masses on Saturday afternoon on his return from the G7 conference in Japan.
