Firefighters responded to an explosion and fire in a one-and-a-half storey home in the 600 block of Redwood Avenue at 11:25 pm on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.

Crews found a well-involved fire when they arrived along with signs of an explosion. an offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control by 12:07 am.

Everyone inside the home were able to get out before firefighters arrived on the scene. Paramedics assessed four people at the scene and took them all to hospital, three in stable condition and one in critical condition.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire but initial investigation indicates a gas leak ignited causing the explosion and subsequent fire.
