Late night collision on Highway 14 claims the life of teen

A 14-year-old girl has died after the vehicle she was in collided with another vehicle on Highway 14 late Saturday night, August 10, 2019.

Police say an officer was on patrol when he came across the collision about eight kilometres west of Highway 75 around 10:30 pm

Officers say that a 24 year-old male from Saskatchewan was travelling westbound when he crossed the centre line and collided with a vehicle being driven by a 62-year-old male.

The female victim was in the westbound vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people in that vehicle also suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to hospital. The 62-year-old male did not suffer any injuries in the collision.

Investigators say that believe seatbelts were in use and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues.
