Landlord -Tenant Dispute Results in Drug and Weapons Charges

A 27-year-old man is facing a number of drug and weapons charges after he allegedly brandished a firearm during a dispute with a landlord in Powerview-Pine Falls on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

RCMP say that when officers arrived at the residence on Poplar Street they found a male and a female loading their belongings into a vehicle. As officers spoke to the male they saw cannabis in plain view inside the vehicle. The male was taken into custody. A search of the suspect uncovered additional cannabis. Officers then searched the vehicle and found a loaded handgun, drug paraphernalia and about 69 grams of cocaine in a vacuum-sealed bag.

Charles Lawrence Guimond was charged for his alleged possession. He is currently prohibited from possessing a firearm. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, June 2, 2023 on a number of drug and firearms-related charges.

The 23-year-old female was released without charge.
RCMP continue to investigate.
