Kids, new puppies and $1058 speeding fine

RCMP pulled over a driver clocked at travelling 177 km/h on the Trans-Canada Highway near Dufresne, Manitoba. Dufresne is about 37 kilometres east of Winnipeg.

The female driver told police that she thought she was only going 140 km/h. She said she was so excited to get her three kids and their new puppies home. The sped limit in that area is 100 km/h.

She was issued a fined $1058 and issued a serious offence notice. She is now facing a license review with Manitoba Public Insurance.

Earlier in the day RCMP pulled over another driver who was travelling over the limit.

Officers stopped a vehicle that was travelling 145 km/h

The driver told police that Kickstart my Heart by Mötley Crüe was on the radio. The officer knew that to be true because he was also listening to it, just at a slower speed.

Unfortunately speeding while listening to tunes isn’t a good enough excuse and the driver was fined $639.
