KAYAKER FOUND DEAD IN WHITESHELL

 

 

RCMP responded to report of a kayaker in distress

 

 

 

 

 

 

Just before 8:30pm on Friday May 12, 2017 RCMP officers from Lac du Bonnet received a report that a kayaker was in distress on Mutamik Lake in Whiteshell Provincial Park.

Police were joined by a conservation officer on a boat patrol and they headed to the area where witnesses had reported the kayaker in distress.

As officers arrived at the base of Sturgeon Falls, entering Nutamik Lake they found the body of a 59 yer old man from Keewatin, Ontario in the water.

Police say he was wearing a lifejacket and there are no signs of foul play.

Officers continue to investigate
