RCMP are investigating after a kayaker found human remains on the bank of Lake Winnipeg in the Grand Marais area of the RM of St. Clements.
Officers were called to the area north of Highway 12, near Road 103 North around 12:50 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
According to the RCMP the site where the remains were found is only accessible by boat. A forensic anthropologist was brought to the site and confirmed the remains are human.
The remains were removed from the site and investigators are waiting on an autopsy.
Police continue to investigate.
