Winnipeg Police say that an 18-year-old male who was assaulted on September 23, 2020, on Kate Street near William Avenue has died from his injuries.
The victim has been identified as Zachary Paul Rae.
Rae was assaulted just after 9:00 pm. Witnesses told News 4 at he time that an assailant on a bike approached the male and shortly afterwards pulled out knife and stabbed him.
The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition where he died from his injuries on September 25, 2020.
On Sunday, September 27, family of Rae held a prayer circle at the site of the assault.
Police say the identity of the suspect is not known at this time say police.
Rae’s death marks the 32nd homicide in Winnipeg since the beginning of 2020.
