1966 – CBWT (CBC Manitoba) began test of a colour TV signals in Winnipeg. On the weekend colour documentaries and travelogues were broadcast in colour an hour before their regular broadcast schedule began. During the week they broadcast the colour test pattern before their regular broadcast to allow colour TV owners the ability to align their sets.
1881 – The first Canadian Pacific Railway train crosses the Louise Bridge. Winnipeg wooed the CPR main line away from Selkirk with the promise of a free bridge.
