Judge says brutal attacks warrant a long prison sentence
22 year old Justin Hudson won’t be getting out of prison for a long time.
Hudson was convicted for the brutal, violent attacks on two women in November of 2014. He and a co-accused attacked a 16 year old girl. She was robbed, beaten and sexually assaulted. During the attack she ended up in the Assiniboine River but was able to drag herself out 100 metres away. It was at this point she was attacked again and repeatedly hit with a hammer until she fell unconscious.

Later that night Hudson and his co-accused attacked a 23 year old woman who was also beaten and sexually assaulted.
In court today during the sentencing hearing Provincial court judge Tim Killeen laid out the sentence and told the accused he took into account his background of abuse and neglect as a child but that the severity of the attacks warranted a long sentence.
Hudson’s co-accused will be sentenced at a later date.
