Joint investigation leads to large cache of weapons seized

RCMP and the Winnipeg Police Service conducted a joint investigation into unlawful possession of firearms that included the seizure of more than 30 weapons, ammunition and cocaine.

Police raided a property just outside Melita, Manitoba on the morning of April 18, 2020, where the restricted and non-restricted firearms were found.

26-year-old Regan Breemersch from the RM of Brenda-Waskada was charged for his alleged involvement with:

  • Possession of a loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm x 3
  • Weapons Possession Contrary to Order x3
  • Possession of a Firearm when knowing Possession is Unauthorized x5
  • Possession of a Firearm with a Tampered Serial Number x 3
  • Unsafe Storage of Firearms x2
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of Cocaine
