It’s been one year since Eduardo Balaquit went missing

Police are still looking for clues in the disappearance of Eduardo Balaquit who went missing one year ago today.

Police say that they believe Balaquit was the victim of a crime after arriving at work at 6:00 pm on June 4, 2108, in the 300 block of Keewatin Street.

Searches in the area at the time did not locate Eduardo. Within a few days the investigation led police to conduct a search in and around Arborg about 119 kilometres north of Winnipeg.

Residents and businesses in the Arborg area were asked to check their properties and outbuildings and to report anything they considered suspicious on the of Balaquit’s disappearance.

Police say that they believe a blue Ford Escape in the area on the day of Balaquit’s disappearance as we all as the days prior to and the days after. It is also believed the same vehicle was in the Arborg area on the day Eduardo went missing.

Investigators are asking the public to be aware of any unusual items they may find, particularly in the Arborg area. They say items that might seem insignificant might be relevant to the investigation.
