Winnipeg Police are looking for a male in his 30s who claimed he was a police officer after meeting a female sex trade worker at a Pembina Highway hotel.
Police say the female victim was assaulted Thursday, after the male tried to say he was a cop but did not produce a badge when the victim asked to see it. Instead the suspect became confrontational.
As the victim was being assaulted by the suspect she screamed for help causing the suspect to flee. A bystander called 911.
Member of the Counter Exploitation Unit are investigating the incident as well as a similar incident that they learned about while investigating this case.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, 30 to 35 years old, 5’7″ tall with a heavy build. He had been wearing a camouflage-print face mask.
