Investigation underway into the cause of Mountain Avenue fire

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire in a single storey commercial building at the corner of Arlington Street and Mountain Avenue just after 7:30 pm on Wednesday evening, March 17, 2021.

When firefighters arrived smoke was coming from the building. An offensive attack was launched. The fire was declared under control at 7:54 pm.

Police blocked northbound traffic on Arlington Street and in both direction on Mountain Avenue around the fire scene.

Residents in a next door home were evacuated as a precaution but were able to return to their suits when the fire was out. Emergency crews completed a search of the structure after the fire and no one was found inside.

No injuries were reported

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
