Emergency personnel couldn’t resuscitate inmate
An inmate has died in custody at Stony Mountain Institution over the weekend.
It happened on Saturday April 1, 2017. a 40 year old inmate Lawrence McMahon died after attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.
Prison officials released the information about the death in a media notice but have not said how McMahon died.
McMahon began serving a two year sentence in February 2016 for two counts of possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking and one count of unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon.
Correctional Service Canada has notified the family of the inmate as well as police and the medical examiners office. A review of the death will be conducted according to CSC policy
