An investigation into the death of an inmate at Stony Mountain Institution on Sunday, January 23, 2022, is underway by Correctional Service Canada (CSC)
Officials say that James Flatfoot died while in custody at the prison. He had been serving a 5 year, three month and 22 day sentence for robbery, possession and use of a firearm and flight from a peace officer since December 16, 2021.
According to the CSC police and the coroner have been notified about the death and the inmate’s next of kin have been notified.
