An inmate at Stony Mountain Institution, just north of Winnipeg, has died.
Correctional Service Canada (CSC) says that the death occurred on December 14, 2022. The inmate has been identified as Robert Hughes. He was serving a sentence for Second Degree Murder since June 6, 2022.
Hughes’s next of kin has been notified.
CSC has also notified the Office of the Chief Medical examiner and and investigation into the death is underway.
