The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) says that an incident occurred during the arrest of a suspect who was allegedly resisting on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.
The IIU says police responded to a call at a home on Magnus Avenue about a dispute. A 47-year-old male suspect resisted arrest, he was restrained and then taken to hospital. Once at Health Science Centre the suspect was admitted and treated for a spiral fracture to his left arm.
According to IIU guidelines, this type of injury is considered serious and requires an investigation by the IIU.
