Winnipeg Police Service is investigating a shooting after a male was found outside a home in the 300 block of Aberdeen Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body.

The male was treated by officers who provided emergency medical care and was taken to hospital in unstable condition. He was later upgraded to stable.

Officers looking into the incident believe that the injured male accidentally discharged the weapon shooting himself. Police continue to investigate.
