Incident turns into a standoff with Winnipeg Police

Winnipeg police were involved in a standoff with people inside a home in the 300 block of Magnus Avenue late Friday night that continued into the early morning hours

Four people were seen in custody as the standoff began. Police surrounded the home and over the next 90 minutes members of the Tactical Support team ordered people inside the residence to come out. Initially those requests were ignored.

As the incident continued officers used sirens and a bull horn to order people out. After the third demand to exit one person surrendered themselves to officers followed by another several minutes later.

Several others eventually also turned themselves into officers before the incident came to a conclusion.

No injuries were reported.

News 4 has reached out to Winnipeg Police about the incident but has yet to receive a reply.
