Incident on transit bus leads to assault and stabbing

Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit is investigating an assault and stabbing on a Winnipeg Transit bus on February 13, 2024,

According to police, officers were called to the Osborne Transit Station around 8:45 p.m. for the report of a male passenger who had been stabbed.

Officers found the victim in his 20s and began emergency medical care, including the use of a chest seal. Paramedics transported the victim to hospital in critical condition but he was later upgraded to stable.

Investigators have learned that during the incident a number of racial slurs from another male were shared and the victim was threatened then assaulted. The driver stopped the bus and both the suspect and victim exited. The suspect fled the area before officers arrived.

Police are looking for a caucasian male between 20 and 30 tears old with a slim build.
