A 32-year-old impaired driver has been arrested and charged after a vehicle he was allegedly driving collided with another vehicle then rolled onto a Henderson Highway front yard near Kimberly Avenue.
The crash happened just before 9:30 pm Saturday night, April 24, 2021. The northbound lanes were closed to traffic for several hours while police investigated.
Police determined that the vehicle had been stolen from the Minto neighbourhood a few days earlier. Just prior to the crash the vehicle had been seen speeding and driving dangerously.
The male driver from Berens River was determined by officers to be impaired. He was taken to hospital, treated and released.
The accused was charged for his alleged involvement with Operation of a Conveyance While Impaired to Any Degree by BAC or Drug or a Combination of Both, Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.
He was released on an appearance notice.
