Imitation handgun used in strongarm robbery, suspect in custody

An 18-year-old male is facing a number of charges after he robbed a couple in the 300 block of Kennedy Street on Saturday afternoon, July 16, 2022.

An adult female and an adult male had gone to the area to sell components to a Playstation that they had advertised online. As the adult male approached the suspect the suspect brandished a firearm and stole the gaming console items then fled to a residence nearby.

Police identified the suspect and with help from the Tactical Support Team went to a residence in the same block and arrested the suspect. Officers found the stolen property, a replica handgun used in the robbery and several other weapons.

The stolen property was returned to the victims.

Tristan Blaze Fury Chornobyl of Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Use of Imitation Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence and three counts of Possession of a Weapon.

He was detained in custody.
