A Winnipeg Police officer is under investigation by Manitoba’s police watchdog agency after alleged unauthorized of a police computer.

The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) is looking into the circumstances surrounding the allegation that occurred on Tuesday, October 1, 2019.

The IIU say that civilian director, Zane Tesslor decided that it would be in the public interest to pursue an investigation based on the information his agency received from Winnipeg Police.

The accused has not been identified.
