The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) has ended its investigation into the alleged inappropriate conduct by an off-duty RCMP officer.
The IIU was informed of an allegation against the officer in June of 2020 but the incident itself dates back to 2019. The IIU did not release details about what allegedly took place.
The IIU began the investigation out of public interest but after reviewing the information collected there is no evidence supporting the allegation “that would compel the IIU to proceed further with the investigation,” according to Zane Tessler, the IIU civilian director.
The investigation has been terminated and the case closed.
