Manitoba’s Police watchdog is investigating allegations of lewd conduct in the form of sexual touching by a female RCMP officer.
On Tuesday the Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) was told by the RCMP that they had received a complaint of inappropriate conduct by the officer while she was attending a conference in Winnipeg.
The alleged incident happened on November 30, 2017, during a social gathering at a hotel lounge. According to the complaint, the officer was involved in multiple instances of inappropriate sexual touching.
It was determined by the civilian director of the IIU, Zane Tessler, that it is in the public interest for the IIU to conduct an investigation into the allegations.
