IIU looking for witnesses to police involved shooting in St. Boniface

Manitoba’s Police watchdog agency, the Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) is looking for witnesses to the officer involved shooting that took place on July 24, 2017, on Archibald Street in St. Boniface

The IIU took over the investigation because they are mandated to investigate all serious incidents involving police officers in Manitoba, whether occurring on or off duty.

During the incident, police were involved in a high-speed chase and the shooting of a 26-year-old male suspect. The suspect was taken to hospital in critical condition.

The IIU is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has video footage of the incident to contact their office at 1-844-667-6060.
