Winnipeg Police constable Justin Holz is facing three additional criminal charges in the fatal hit and run that killed 23-year-old Cody Severight in October 2017.
The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba, who took over the investigation as soon as it was learned an off-duty police officer was involved, said that the ongoing investigation led to the additional charges.

Holtz is now also facing the additional charges of dangerous driving, dangerous driving causing death, and driving a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding eighty milligrams of alcohol in one hundred millilitres of blood and thereby causing death for his alleged involvement.
Holtz is already facing charges of impaired driving causing death and failure to stop and remain at the scene of an accident.
The investigation continues.
