The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) is looking into the arrest of a 40-year-old Winnipeg man after he was arrested and removed from a Winnipeg Transit bus.
The IIU says the on May 21, 2019, Winnipeg Police responded to an incident on Provencher Boulevard at Tache Avenue where a male was causing a disturbance. Officers found the suspect on a city bus. After his arrest, he went into medical distress and was taken to Grace Hospital. The man remains in critical condition.
Since the man was hospitalized after his arrest the IIU is mandated to investigate.
