The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) is investigating a vehicle collision after RCMP attempted a traffic stop early Tuesday morning, August 1, 2023.
According to the IIU RCMP officers were attempting to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle around 1:25 am on Inkster Boulevard when the suspect vehicle sped away. The vehicle continued eastbound on Inkster Boulevard when it collided with another vehicle at Keewatin Street. The driver of the suspect vehicle and two people in the other vehicle were taken to Health Sciences Centre.
Due to the circumstances and injuries that occurred in the incident the IIU is mandated to investigate.
