Manitoba’s police watchdog agency has decided to investigate the circumstances surrounding injuries a teen received during her arrest in Flin Flon.
The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) of Manitoba became aware of the October 21st incident when RCMP retorted it to them on November 1, 2019.
The IIU say that RCMP responded to an assistance call at a home in Flin Flon. Officers determined that a 15-year-old female was under arrest and had to use force in order to take her into custody.
The teen was taken to hospital, assessed then returned to police custody.
The IIU say that although the female did not sustain any serious injuries they will be investigating in the public interest.
