Manitoba’s Independent Investigation Unit is investigating the shooting of a 30 year old Winnipeg man near Portage La Prairie on Thursday May 19, 2016.
Portage RCMP advised the IIU that it received a complaint of a car being driven erratically through fields and ditches. The detachment located the vehicle and a short pursuit ensued, ending when the vehicle stopped in a ditch and the driver exited with a firearm. Gunfire followed, resulting in the driver being transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
