Manitoba’s Police watchdog agency the Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) is looking into an alleged incident involving an on-duty RCMP officer.
According to the IIU, the RCMP officer allegedly stored their firearm in an unsafe manner while visiting Winnipeg on a personal matter.
Although there were no incidents or injuries related to the storage of the firearm the IIU civilian director, Zane Tessler, considers it to be in the public interest to investigate.
