Manitoba’s police watchdog agency is investigating a complaint that an adult male was injured during his July 2020 arrest by RCMP.
The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) says that on July 29, 2020 police arrested the male in the RM of Dauphin. The male alleges that he was injured during the arrest and suffered broken ribs.
On March 30, 2022, the male filed a complaint with the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission (CRCC) for the RCMP regarding the arrest and injury. RCMP reported the complaint to the IIU on March 31, 2022.
Due to the nature of the alleged injury the IIU is mandated to investigate.
Anyone who may have witnessed the arrest or has video footage is asked to contact the IIU at 1-844-667-6060.
