The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) is investigating allegations of an assault by two off-duty Winnipeg Police Service officers on December 14, 2023.
According to the IIU, an altercation happened earlier in the day Thursday at an establishment in the 1600 block of Main Street between an adult male and the off-duty officers. The altercation was captured on surveillance video. The adult male suffered minor injuries as a result.
The IIU civilian director has determined that it is in the public interest to investigate the incident.
