The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) is investigating an incident that happened in November 2020, involving Winnipeg Police officers.
According to the IIU, WPS officers responded to Boyd Avenue to remove two people from a residence. One male was arrested at the scene.
On April 7, the Law Enforcement Review Agency (LERA) notified the WPS that they had received information that indicated a male who was in the home during the arrest had suffered a fractured humerus.
The WPS immediately contact the IIU about the incident and an investigation was launched due to the seriousness of the injury involved.
