Manitoba’s police watchdog agency, The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU), will be looking into allegations that a man was seriously injured during an arrest by RCMP officers in July 2022.
The IIU got wind of the incident when RCMP reported it to them on March 21, 2023. The male filed a complaint with the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission (CRCC)
As a skull fracture is considered a serious injury the IIU is mandated to investigate.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have video footage is asked to call investigators at 1-844-667-6060.
