IIU investigating after a woman fell from the Redwood Bridge on Monday morning, February 6, 2023.
According to the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba police were called to the bridge after the woman was spotted over the rail around 9:20 am.
When officers tried to speak with the woman she fell from the bridge to the ice below. Officers were able to pull her to safety. She was taken to the hospital and treated for fractures to her fibula, tibia, ribs and sternum.
The IIU says that since these injuries are considered serious in nature they are mandated to investigate.
