Manitoba’s Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) is looking into a case after a female launched a complaint about alleged injuries she sustained during her arrest on September 17, 2021.
According to the IIU, the female filed her complaint with the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission for the RCMP on October 21 alleging that during the course of her arrest in Russell, Manitoba her wrist was broken.
RCMP notified the IIU of the complaint on November 1 and since a serious injury is involved the IIU is mandated to investigate.
