RCMP are continuing to investigate the murder of a male in Portage la Prairie after human remains were found on June 24, 2020.
Investigators reviewed all missing persons reports from within Manitoba and across Canada but no reports matched the description of the victim.
On July 10, 2020 police reached out to the media and public in an effort to identify the victim. Although they received several tips the victim’s identity is still unknown.
Investigators say the based on some new information they received the victim may have some ties to Winnipeg. They believe he may have been living in or travelling through the city when he was murdered.
The investigation has indicated that the victim’s body was placed near Baker Street in Portage la Prairie on June 20, 2020, sometime between 3:00 am and 5:00 am. Police say that this is a significant development and are asking anyone who may have been driving or living near Baker Street who may have seen something suspicious on June 20th to contact them

Investigators are also looking to talk to four people who were seen travelling together on June 20th in a dark coloured SUV. Police say they stopped at a Shell/Circle K convenience store at 327 Saskatchewan Avenue around 4:00 am
The individuals are described as:
- Individual 1- Male, short dark brown hair, approximately 5’9”, with tattoos on both his forearms, neck and face, wearing a navy plaid shirt and black pants.
- Individual 2- Male, short dyed blond hair, approximately 6’0”, with tattoos on both arms, wearing a red and black ball cap, black t-shirt, black pants and brown boots.
- Individual 3- Female, long brown hair, approximately 5’6”, wearing a red flowered shirt and a black skirt.
- Individual 4- Female, long black hair, approximately 5’3” wearing a black Nike hoody and black pants.




Investigators are also looking for help to identify the victim who is described as:
• Male
• Between the ages of 20 – 40
• 5’7” – 6’2” in height
• Has scoliosis of the spine (curvature of the spine)
• Light brown hair, possibly medium length
• Was possibly residing in Winnipeg or travelling through the area
