Manitoba Hydro announced on Friday, September 29, 2017, that most of their employees working at their building on Taylor and Harrow will be moving into their Portage Avenue location.

“Bringing staff from 820 Taylor and 360 Portage together provides a number of benefits, including increased productivity with staff working in closer proximity to each other as well as the avoidance of significant capital costs we would face with refurbishing 820 Taylor to maintain it as a viable long-term office building,” said Shepherd.
Shepard also said that the move is able to happen because space is now available in the downtown headquarters due to the voluntary departure of 820 employees, the last of which leaves in January 2018.
Hydro says that the move will potentially save the crown corporation about $2.1 million each year moving forward.
