RCMP say that human remains were found in an old office building near Pine Street in Powerview-Pine Falls about 120 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
Police say they were alerted to the fire just before 6:00 am on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.
Once firefighters were able to get the fire extinguished they entered the structure and located the remains.
Police along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner are investigating.
