Winnipeg Police Service says that the human remains found near Oakbank on Monday, May 31, 2021, belong to a man who was reported missing from Winnipeg in October 2009.
The remains were identified following a forensic examination to be Roy Robert Ledoux. Ledoux was 48 at the time he went missing.
RCMP alone with Springfield Police Service, CP police and an anthropology team began the investigation and conducted a search of the area where the remains were located
WPS Missing Persons Unit is continuing to investigate but say foul play is not suspected.
